Your top Plant Hire FAQs answered

There are many different types and sizes of plant machinery available to hire. But deciding where to source the most fitting machinery for your purpose is more difficult. As industry experts, we’ve collated a list of our customer’s most frequently asked questions to show you why hiring plant with us is easy and hassle-free.

Q. What condition is the equipment in?

A. Our equipment is delivered to you in working order and is cleaned thoroughly after every use. We pride ourselves in making sure that every piece of equipment is tried and tested, ensuring it’s not sent out to you with any defaults.

Rest assured that when our equipment is delivered, it’ll arrive in pristine condition, on time, full of fuel and tested in line with legal and manufacturer’s guidelines. We know how a delay in delivery can put a project on hold. So we will follow up on the delivery of your equipment to make sure it arrives on time, if there are any delays we will let you know in advance and come up with a solution.

Q. Do I need a driving license to use the equipment?

A. No, you do not need to have a driver’s license to operate plant machinery, this is not a legal requirement. The only instance where an operator would be required to have a driving license would be to drive the machinery on any public highways which requires complying with the appropriate road traffic regulations.

Q. What size machine do I need?

A. The size of the plant machinery you require is entirely dependent on the job you wish to complete. We supply a range of machines from telehandlers to rollers for whichever job you are tackling. If you are unsure of which machine you require for the job at hand, feel free to give us a call on 0330 118 5030 and we will be happy to advise on what would be the best fit for your project.

Q. Is equipment training provided?

We can’t provide any thorough training for the use of our machinery. Our drivers will be happy to talk you through the safety aspects of the machines when they are delivered and all machines will come with an operator’s manual that will go into detail of all of the functions of the machine.

However, if you feel you are not comfortable with operating the machinery yourself, we can provide you with an operator. Our operators are qualified to work any plant equipment and will carry the task out under your instruction. Unfortunately, our plant operators are only responsible for controlling plant operations, they are not responsible for making your team a quick cuppa!

Q. Do I have to pay for any equipment that is damaged?

A. If the equipment becomes damaged whilst in your possession, you will be liable to cover the cost, this also applies to the loss or theft of any equipment. If this happens, you will also need to pay us for any financial loss we endure while waiting for the repair of said equipment. (All equipment is hired under CPA terms and conditions, a copy of which is available upon request or via our website).
